Hero Electric's Optima plus dominates 60% of the total Electric Vehicle sale in Lucknow, UP

Hero Electric, the pioneer and market leader in the Indian Electric two-wheeler industry has managed to establish a niche place for itself in Tier 2 cities. The successful approval of the National Electric Mobility Mission Plan has triggered the sales of electric vehicles in the country. Owing to this, the sales of electric vehicles in Lucknow, the capital of UP has reached 30%, out of which 60% is attributed to Hero Electric's high speed scooter Optima plus.

The smart two-wheeler is an eco-friendly and cost-effective form of transportation sporting features like 25 km/hr mileage, anti-theft alarm, aerodynamic style, telescopic suspensions and float-cum-boost charger to name a few. This proves the fact that people are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of reducing pollution on the roads, as these electric two-wheelers are eclipsing the demand for petrol or diesel-run vehicles. Data reveal that among all Optima plus sold in UP, around 70% of these bikes are being used as family across all age bike, the rest 30% buyers are business owners, office goers and others.

The Optima plus has earned wide popularity especially among students, women and elderly people residing in tier-2 cities of India. Facilitating easy manoeuvring, this electric scooter has become the most-preferred commuting option to navigate the roads in small town areas. Its Brushless Motor-Integrated design helps to accelerate even on slopes without overloading while allowing a virtually noiseless, comfortable and smooth ride. The Optima plus installed with AGM VRLA battery is especially made for the harshest of Indian environmental conditions.

The National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) that was launched in 2013 focuses on national energy security, mitigation of the adverse impact of vehicles on the environment and the growth of domestic manufacturing capabilities. It aims to deploy 6 to 7 electric vehicles in the country by the year 2020.
