School of Broadcasting & Communication, a Mumbai-based media institute, predicts that there would be a whopping demand for qualified & skilled media personnel following a projection growth of 13 per cent in India's media and entertainment industry. Moreover, the demand for a rising pay package is also expected.
"The advent of media has increased tremendously with more than 800 channels have mushroomed over the years and still counting… The demand for skilled manpower in the field of journalism, public relations, advertising and television channels will be the need of an hour," said Mr Tushir Choudhary, Managing Director, School of Broadcasting & Communication.
School of Broadcasting & Communication is affiliated to Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication - Asia's only journalism university - established at the behest of India's former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.
According to Ficci-KPMG report, the Indian media and entertainment industry in 2015 is projected to grow at 13 per cent to reach Rs 1,96,400 crore. "We have been producing tailor-made personnel over the years and in order to meet the demand for capable and well-trained personnel, School of Broadcasting & Communication thrives to create talented personnel year-on-year," Mr Choudhary further stated.
Over the years, School of Broadcasting & Communication has always created a distinctive pool of media professionals, who have been placed in India's renowned media houses. It has also entered into a strategic tie-up with the Deakin University and Edith Cowan University, respectively.
Unlike in the past, opportunities are rolling for students doing media related courses to have hands on experience of what they learn in their curriculum, be it in the electronic or print media. With TV channels mushrooming, budding journos are being exposed to the practicalities of the profession they would embrace after their studies. Students of School of Broadcasting & Communication have chanced upon a great opportunity to work various newspapers, magazines, TV channels, production houses, etc.
School of Broadcasting & Communication has established itself as a premier media institute imparting the latest state-of-the-art curriculums and courses specific to the media, broadcast and journalism verticals. "We prepare our students to achieve the highest standards in all branches of the profession, keeping in focus the trend and thrust of convergence in the media, and the consequent demands for multiple skills made on the contemporary media. As a seat of learning, SBC aims at developing a distinctive class of media professionals. As an institute, our endeavor is to set a precedent where expertise, experience and ethics go hand-in-hand," Mr Choudhary pointed out.
School of Broadcasting & Communication has trained more than 2000 students from over 24 states and 7 countries over the years. It is now gearing up for the academic year 2015-16 to create yet another pool of talents to meet the burgeoning demand of skilled manpower in the media and entertainment industry.
