In a first of its kind initiative, Teztadka (www.teztadka.com), an upcoming restaurant in Sarjapur Road Bengaluru, in partnership with an international organization, Stop Hunger Now India will be facilitating an event where volunteers will pack 10,000 meals to feed children from a school in Tannery Road, Bangalore run by the Hope Foundation. The event will happen on 21st March, 2015 in Teztadka Restaurant premises at Sarjapur Road between 3.30 PM to 6.30 PM.
Stop Hunger Now, an organization established in 1998, coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid to crisis-burdened areas around the world in an attempt to put an end to hunger. They have packaged and distributed over 300,000,000 meals in 65 countries. In India, they are setting up their full time office, with the first chapter being located in Bangalore. This is the first local community-led event for Stop Hunger Now India.
Teztadka has come forward to help Stop Hunger Now India in their mission by hosting and packaging the meals that are highly nutritious and are fortified with essential vitamins. These meals are distributed to the needy children and adolescents in Bengaluru through feeding programs operated by partner organizations. These partners promote education, encourage children to attend school, improve the health and nutrition of students, address gender inequalities, spur economic growth and combat child labor.
The event will see over 40 volunteers at the venue who will help in packaging the meals. There will also be an exclusive performance by Swarathma to encourage these volunteers.
