Parryware Roca, the frontrunner in bathroom solutions, commemorated World Toilet Day on 19th November, 2014, with a road show in DLF Cyber Hub, Gurgaon. The road show encompassed performances by the renowned Asmita Theatre Group which highlighted the sanitation problems in India and other health issues that arise out of the poor state of hygiene in the bathrooms. The performances were held in slots between 12 pm and 3 pm and another between 5 pm and 6 pm and witnessed a very positive response from the spectators and visitors at Cyber Hub.
Pau Abello, MD, Roca Bathroom Products Pvt. Ltd. said, "As a leader in the bathroom space, we shoulder a very important responsibility. With this initiative, we aim to augment the level of awareness amongst Indians regarding the importance of proper sanitation. A road show of this kind by a popular theatre group engages the mass consciousness in a way that people can relate to and that can propel them to think and take action at their own individual level."
He added, "We chose Cyber hub to undertake this initiative because the footfalls there mostly represent the surrounding corporates and by creating awareness among them, we are in turn spreading this critical message to thousands of others in their respective organizations to translate it into small little actions which can one day eradicate this problem of sanitation in India."
World Toilet Day was established on 19 November 2001 in Singapore by the World Toilet Organization to draw attention to the global sanitation crisis. It aims to promote discourse and debate on toilets and sanitation. In India, events such as the one organised by Parryware Roca serve as a reminder of the struggles that thousands in our country face who still lack access to proper toilets and the health issues that this situation can spur.
