Sankara Eye Hospital organizes 'Beyond Sight' on World Sight Day

Sankara Eye Hospital, one of the premier eye hospitals in the country dedicated towards making India visually wealthy and eliminating needless blindness in India, organized Beyond Sight - a unique simulation of the world of darkness, by an interactive 'Dark Zone' at the hospital premises to celebrate World Sight Day.

Participants were guided through a dark room, where they experienced the difficulties faced by a blind person and left with the thought that one should not take their healthy vision for granted. The participants were asked to test their sense of touch and smell just by depending on their orientation of space to maneuver through a path of varying textures (sands, stones, grass, etc.). They also performed simple routine tasks like making a cup of tea in complete darkness to understand the ordeal of visually challenged people and realize the importance of vision.
