ONGC reports lower Q4 net profit of Rs.2681.64 Crores, recommends 130% final dividend

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (ONGC) has announced the financial results for the quarter & year ended March 31, 2007. The Unaudited results for the Quarter ended March 31, 2007 are as follows: The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 26816.40 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 30858.90 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 145759.20 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 125282.30 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2006.

The Audited results for the Year ended March 31, 2007 are as follows: The Company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 156429.20 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 144307.80 million for the year ended March 31, 2006. Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 608759.10 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 502829.60 million for the year ended March 31, 2006.

The Audited consolidated results for the Year ended March 31, 2007 are as follows: The Group has posted a net profit (after adjustment of share of profit in associates & minority interest) of Rs 177696.00 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 153976.30 million for the year ended March 31, 2006. Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 870056.20 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 where as the same was at Rs 734228.70 million for the year ended March 31, 2006.

The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on June 25, 2007, inter alia, has recommended Final Dividend of 130% (Rs 13/- per share), over and above 180% (Rs 18/- per share) already paid as interim dividend in December, 2006. for the FY 2006-07, subject to approval by the shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company.
