Rana Sugars Expands Co-generation Power Capacity

Rana Sugars Ltd has announced that the Company at its existing sugar unit at Buttar Sevian, apart from Sugar Manufacturing, the Company is engaged in Cogeneration of Power with an actual export realization of approx. 10 MWHRs unit to the Punjab State Electricity Board.

As part of its strategic planning & vertical integration the Company is expanding it cogeneration with the installation of one Highly efficient 34 Mw Backpressure turbine, which shall be operated at a pressure 89 kg per sq.cm at a temperature of 510 deg celcius. The steam from back pressure of the turbine will be used for process demand for the sugar manufacturing.

The Steam shall be generated from a highly efficient Steam Generating Boiler supplied from M/s. ISGEC John Thompson, Noida with operating parameters of working pressure of 89 kg per sq. cm and steam flow of 120 TPH at a temperature of 515 deg celcius. With the installation of this turbine, it is envisaged that the export potential shall increase upto 17 MWHRS.

With this expansion the Company will generate additional revenue of Rs 13.14 crores which will increase the profit of the Company by Rs 7.00 crores P.A.
