Unisys Announces Winners of Cloud 20/20 Version 5.0 Technical Project Contest

Unisys India has announced the winners of Cloud 20/20 Version 5.0,the latest instalment of one of India's largest online technical project contests. The contest recognizes innovative thinking by students across India in addressing the technical challenges of cloud computing.

Following several rigorous rounds of evaluation, including technical project submissions, telephone interviews, and remote project demonstrations via video conference, project 'Remote Smartphone Application for Controlling Laptop and Desktop Devices'submitted by Vineet Kumar and Akash Singhfrom Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, won the first prize. The project'iPay'submitted by Anil GadiyarH. J., Prajwal G.Pawar, Pruthvi N. Shetty, and SankalpAsthik G. K.from Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore,took thesecond prize.The third prize was awarded to the project 'Cloud Connect,'submitted by M.Thamizharasan and Rizwan Mohammed Hayatfrom Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry.

This year, the Unisys Cloud 20/20 contestincluded an additional competition for students who are part of the Unisys Innovation Labs (UIL) program.These students were given an opportunity to create projects using Unisys technologies - the ClearPath ePortal mobile application development capability and the Business Information Server (BIS) and Agile Business (AB) Suite rapid application development environments.Following several rigorous rounds of evaluation, the project'MediAssistance'submitted by Sridhar G. R., Anushree V., ApoorvaBharadhwaj H., and SwathiP. S.,from Jyothy Institute of Technology, Bangalore, was selected as the winner.

Unisys India will offer the finalist teams employment opportunities within the company, subject to their eligibility and availability within the organization.

Initiatives such as Cloud 20/20 and the Unisys Innovation Labs program provide engineering students with a platform to develop these and other critical skills by putting theory into practice to develop real-world solutions, enhancing their competitiveness and employability."

Nearly 1,400 teams from colleges across India participated in Cloud 20/20 Version 5.0. Unisys received approximately400 project submissions, up more than 70 percent from the prior year's competition.

Working in teams of four, supported by project guides from Unisys and their institute, the contestantsshowcased live cloud computing projects based on topics including automation,application development, security, big data, consumerization of IT, and more.
