Isolux Corsán signs a new contract in Mexico for the construction of 10 substations and 4 T&D lines

Isolux Corsán has signed a new contract in Mexico for the construction and installation of 26 kilometres of transmission lines and 10 substations in Mexico City, and the states of Mexico and Hidalgo, with a price tag of $90 million. This project, awarded by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), has a lead time of 1 year and 5 months.

The 2nd Phase of the "Mexico Valley Distribution" Project includes the construction of four 85 and 230 kV transmission lines and 10 substations, 4 of which GIS, include 230/115/85 and 23 kV, with a capacity of 420 MVA and 73.8 MVAr compensation and 83 high voltage feeders.

With this award, the largest transmission and distribution power line project in the country in recent years, CFE reaffirms their confidence in the company's experience in the area of ??T&D, having entrusted our Group with numerous projects in the past 23 years. These projects include the construction and commissioning of about 5,000 km of high and medium voltage transmission lines, 50 high and medium voltage transformer and distribution substations and the execution of the 188 SE 1116, valued at more than €900 Million.

More than 20 years in Mexico

Since its arrival in Mexico, Isolux Corsán has undertaken projects in the fields of energy infrastructure, telecommunications, transport and environmental infrastructure, as well as building and civil works. In the energy area, the company has built and put into operation the Baja California II Combined Cycle Power Plant (272 MW), the Guerrero Negro Power Plant (10 MW), and completed the revamping of the Plutarco Elias Calles Power Plant (600 MW), with a total budget of $224 Million The last award of this division has been the revamping of Altamira Thermoelectric Plant in Tamaulipas for $380 Million.

The Group has also installed fibre optic cabling along 7,500 km of power lines across much of the country as well as the management and information system and operation of the CFE facilities. For Telefónica Movistar, the company undertook the construction and commissioning of 750 repeaters for the operator's mobile network as well as the construction of six customer service centres. In addition, the company built 50 repeaters for the customer Telcel.

In the industrial area, Isolux Corsán signed the first contract in the oil sector for the construction of the SRU-2 sulphur plant in Salamanca for Pemex. The Environment Division has undertaken the expansion of the Norte 2 WWTP in Puerto Vallarta for SEAPAL.

It has also built the San José del Rincón and Ixtepec rural hospitals for the Mexican Social Security Institute and Hospital de las Culturas for the state government of Chiapas, three of the most prominent building projects developed by the company.

One of the infrastructure works that is currently underway is the construction of the El Purgatorio Dam , which will supply the city of Guadalajara in Mexico.

In the Concessions area, the company built and commissioned the Saltillo-Monterrey highway and Saltillo Bypass under conecessions with an investment of more than $400 Million, and has built and is operating the 45 year concession of the Perote-Banderilla highway Xalapa Bypass with a total investment of $875 Million. These operations have consolidated Isolux Corsán's position as one of the largest construction groups in Mexico, with activities in almost all business areas.
