Indian equities ended tad higher on F&O clearing settlement day led by power, consumer durables and bankex sectors.
Nifty closed at 6278.90 up by 10.50 points or 0.17percent over the previous day closing of 6267.10 after witnessing a low of 6259.45 and a high of 6302.75. Sensex closed at 21074.59 up by 41.88 points or 0.20percent over the previous day closing of 21032.71. It touched an intraday low of 21013.14 and high of 21135.85.
The markets' breadth was mixed. Out of 2660 stocks traded 1629 stocks advanced, 901 stocks declined and 130 stocks rem ained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 14 stocks advanced 15 stocks declined and 01 stock remain unchanged.
Among the sectors, BSE Power, BSE Consumer Durables and BSE Bankex were the main gainers of the day which increased by 1.09percent, 0.88percent and 0.53percent respectively. In BSE Power sector, Tata Power, Adani Power and Torrent Power increased by 4.06percent,3.39percent and 3.27 percent respectively. In BSE Consumer Durables sector Gitanjali Gems, Bajaj Elect and PC Jeweller advanced by 17.06percent,4.79percent and 2.33percent respectively. In
BSE Bankex Federal Bank, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank increased by 2.31percent, 1.83 percent and 1.21percent respectively.
