Indian Equities end lower on Tuesday - Microsec

Indian equities ended lower on Tuesday led by metal, bankex and oil & gas sectors.

Nifty closed at 6267.10 down by 17.40 points or 0.28% over the previous day closing of 6284.50 after witnessing a low of 6262.00 and a high of 6301.50. Sensex closed at 21032.71 down by 68.32 points or 0.32% over the previous day closing of 21101.03. It touched an intraday low of 21010.65 and high of 21156.92 .

The markets' breadth was negative. Out of 2636 stocks traded 1444 stocks advanced, 1034 stocks declined and 158 stocks rem ained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 11 stocks advanced and 19 stocks declined.

Among the sectors, BSE Metal, BSE Bankex and BSE Oil & Gas were the main losers of the day which decreased by 1.09%, 0.43% and 0.23% respectively.

In BSE Metal sector, Hindustan Zinc, SSLT and Hindalco Inds decreased by 2.33%,2.31% and 1.21 % respectively. In BSE Bankex BoB., Federal Bank and Indusind Bank declined by 1.66%,1.62% and 1.51% respectively. In BSE Oil & Gas sector Oil India, Gail India and Cairn India decreased by 1.44%, 1.18 % and 0.70% respectively.
