              Indian Markets closed at more than a 3 year high on positive cues from overseas markets. The markets surged to close higher after the markets closed lower on Thursday. The key gainers include banking and metal shares. The BSE Sensex closed higher at 20,882.89, up by 467.38 points or 2.29% and Nifty closed at 6189.35, up by 143.50 points or 2.37%.
The Bank Nifty closed higher at 10744.90 (+408.35 points or 3.95%). All components of the Bank Nifty ended the day in green. The key gainers were Indusind Bank(+6.39%), Axis Bank(+5.55%), ICICI Bank(+4.68%), Canara Bank(+3.64%), Kotak Bank(+3.47%), Yes Bank(+3.25%), HDFC Bank(+3.04%), SBI(+2.64%), Union Bank of India(+2.57%), Bank of Baroda(+2.57%), PNB(+2.46%) and Bank of India(+2.26%). The BSE Bankex ended higher at 12,254.23 (+3.93%).
The top gainers in Nifty were Indusind Bank (+6.39%), Tata Steel (+6.09%), Sesa-Sterlite (+5.97%), Axis Bank (+5.55%) and JP Associates (+5.14%). Out of 50 stocks in Nifty, 49 were gainers and only 1 stock was a loser. Bajaj Auto was the only stock that closed marginally negative in Nifty. The stock closed the day at Rs. 2152.95, down by Rs. 0.35 or 0.02%.
Out of 30 stocks in BSE Sensex, 29 stocks closed in the green with Bajaj Auto alone closing in the red.
