              Nifty opened in the positive territory on Thursday and built on to the gains as the day progressed. It closed higher by 130 points and buying was witnessed across the board. The index is likely to move in the 5700-5970 range in the short term.
Nifty Call options of strike 6100 added 11,548 lots to open interest while Nifty Put options of strike 5800 had a build up of 17,334 lots.
Nifty Put Call ratio (OI) stands at 1.09 with the total open interest in Call options at 1,104,009 lots and that in Put options at 1,206,533 lots.
Axis Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punj Lloyd, Reliance Infrastructure, SAIL, Tata Motors and Tech Mahindra appear strong while Coal India, Sun Pharma, NTPC and Future Retail Limited are likely to remain weak.
Volatility Index fell by 2.33% from 25.77 to 25.17.
