Indian Markets end higher, as Syria attack fears recede - Cholamandalam Securities

Indian Markets ended on a strong note led by positive foreign flows in the Indian equity markets on the back of receding fears of a US led military strike on Syria. Positive Asian cues after the Chinese data showed that it could be emerging from the economic slowdown also boosted sentiments.

L&T surged after the company said it has acquired 25% more orders and expects to maintain margins for the current fiscal

Tata Motors' ended higher sharply, after the company's UK arm JLR recorded US retail sales of 6,661units in August 2013- the best month since 2005.

Buying was visible across the board, led by gains in auto stocks. The broader markets also gained as mid cap index closed higher by 1.4%.

India's trade deficit for the month of August 2013 dropped 12.4%MoM to USD 10.91bn, led by sharp fall in Gold imports to USD 0.65bn.
