Indian Markets witness relief rally on Wednesday - Microsec

Indian markets witnessed a relief rally on Wednesday after a steep loss yesterday. Metal, healthcare, auto and IT stocks led the rise in the market.

Nifty closed at 5448.10 up by 106.65 points or 2.00% over the previous day closing of 5341.45 after witnessing a low of 5318.90 and a high of 5460.25. Sensex closed at 18567.55 up by 332.89 points or 1.83% over the previous day closing of 18234.66.It touched an intraday low of 18188.43 and high of 18612.60.

The markets' breadth was positive. Out of 2441 stocks traded 1364 stocks advanced, 927 stocks declined and 150 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 29 stocks advanced and 01 stocks declined.

Among the sectors, BSE Metal, BSE Healthcare and BSE Auto were the main gainers of the day which increased by 2.75%, 2.60% and 2.47% respectively.

In BSE Metal sector Hindustan Zinc, Hindalco Inds, and JSW Steel increased by 4.01%,3.97% and 3.26% respectively. In BSE Healthcare sector Ranbaxy Labs, IPCA Lab and Biocon advanced by 8.75% 8.24% and 3.58% respectively. In BSE Auto sector Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto increased by 4.79% 6.77% and 3.23% respectively.
