              Indian markets ended on a buoyant note on Thursday helped by recovery in the rupee following RBI's announcement of fresh measures. Oil & gas, metal, FMCG and capital goods stocks led the rally in the market.
Nifty closed at 5409.05 up by 124.05 points or 2.35percent over the previous day closing of 5285.00 after witnessing a low of 5303.00 and a high of 5428.90. Sensex closed at 18401.04 up by 404.89 points or 2.25percent over the previous day closing of 17996.15.It touched an intraday low of 18071.22 and high of 18455.66.
The markets' breadth was positive. Out of 2402 stocks traded 1274 stocks advanced, 990 stocks declined and 138 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 24 stocks advanced and 06 stocks declined.
Among the sectors, BSE Oil & Gas, BSE Metal and B S E FMCG were the main gainers of the day which increased by 2.86percent, 2.38percent and 2.29percent respectively.
In BSE Oil & Gas sector RIL, GAIL India, and ONGC increased by 4.22percent,2.10percent and 1.95percent respectively. In BSE Metal sector Sesa Goa, JSW Steel and Hindalco Industries advanced by 13.54percent 6.62percent and 4.65percent respectively. In BSE FMCG sector United Spirits ,ITC and HUL increased by 3.14percent 2.65percent and 2.22percent respectively.
