Markets ended the second trading day of the week in red as Weak Global Cues and fear of further melt-down in the Indian rupee affected investor sentiment. Nifty ended at 5401.45, down 13.30 points or 0.25 percent and Sensex lost 61.48 points or 0.34 percent to conclude trade at 18246.04. Sectoral indices remained almost equally divided amongst gainers and losers.
The biggest gainer was the Metal Index, followed by Realty and Banking Space. The biggest loser was the Consumer Durables Index, followed by the Auto and Healthcare Indices.
