Indian equities settled buoyant on Tuesday led by rally in consumer durables, FMCG, realty and banking stocks.
Nifty closed at 6077.80 up by 46.00points or 0.76% over the previous day closing of 6031.80 after witnessing a low of 6061.30 and a high of 6093.35. Sensex closed at 20302.13 up by 143.01 points or 0.71% over the previous day closing of 20159.12.It touched an intraday low of 20249.98 and high of 20351.06.
The markets' breadth was tight. Out of 2472 stocks traded 1149 stocks advanced, 1150 stocks declined and 173 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 21 stocks advanced and 09 stocks declined.
Among the sectors, BSE Consumer Durables, BSE FMCG and BSE Realty were the main gainers of the day which increased by 3.85%, 1.53% and 1.42% respectively. In BSE Consumer durables sector, PC Jeweller, Titan Inds, and Videocon Inds increased by 18.70%,5.85% and 1.64% respectively. In BSE FMCG HUL, ITC and Nestle India advanced by 3.19% 1.84% and 0.26% respectively. In BSE Realty sector HDIL , D L F and Indiabulls Real Est increased by 4.33% 2.89% and 2.50% respectively.
