The Indian markets are likely to open on higher tracking positive Asian markets. Tracking the momentum, the index is likely to recapture its key level of 6050 in trade today. At 07:30 a.m., Nifty India stock futures in Singapore were trading 37 points higher at 6074, indicating a higher opening on the domestic market.
Overnight, US markets ended higher with S&P 500 touching its record high for third consecutive session. The S&P 500 has added nearly 19 percent so far this year. Major Asian markets edged higher tracking gains in US markets overnight.
Commodity prices were also mixed with copper holding above $7,000 a metric ton (1.1023 tons), while U.S. crude stayed under pressure and was trading around $107 a barrel.
