BSE Sensex closes down 64.70 points at 19545.78 - Microsec

The Indian equity indices ended lower in volatile trade Tuesday, as a steady stream of weak macro-economic data kept buyers on the back foot.

Nifty closed at 5919.45 down by 19.85 points or 0.33 % over the previous day closing of 5939.30 after witnessing a low of 5910.25 and a high of 5981.60. Sensex closed at 19545.78 down by 64.70points or 0.33% over the previous day closing of 19610.48.It touched an intraday low of 19522.47 and high of 19742.70.

The markets' breadth was negative. Out of 2496 stocks traded 1119 stocks advanced, 1215 stocks declined and 162 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 14 stocks advanced and 16 stocks declined.

Among the sectors, BSE Consumer Durables, BSE Bankex, BSE Realty were the main losers of the day which decreased by 1.34%, 0.95% and 0.86% respectively.

In BSE Consumer Durables sector, Whirlpool , Titan Inds and Symphony decreased by 3.04%, 2.78% and 1.08% respectively. In BSE Bankex Axis Bank, Canara Bank Infra and SBI declined by 2.41%,2.24% and 2.11% respectively. In BSE Realty sector Unitech, DLF and Indiabulls Real estate decreased by 1.41% 1.33% and 1.39% respectively.
