US Markets end with gains - ZENMoney

In US Markets, Major Indicies rose with gains in Merck & Co's as the company's drug helped to shrink cancer tumors in 38% patients with advanced melanoma in an early-stage study . However, a weaker-thanexpected factory activity last month fed worries that the economic recovery was struggling

On the European front, The Britishbenchmark fell due to downbeat data from China and with concerns about the health of the economy in Germany and the United States prompting investors to lock in profits on top performers of recent months. The indicies were pressurised with no major scheduled UK company news. Technical levels offered some support on the downside.

Nikkei in the morning session seesawed between gains and losses in choppy trade as nervousness set in following the dollar's declin against Yen after a report from the Institute for Supply Management on Monday showed activity in the U.S. manufacturing sector contracted in May.
