Nifty closes at 6104.30 - Microsec

The equity benchmark closed down in dull trade Wednesday, with activity largely focused on companies announcing their quarterly numbers.

Nifty closed at 6104.30 down by 6.95 points or 0.11% over the previous day closing of 6111.25 after witnessing a low of 6069.80 and a high of 6125.05. Sensex closed at 20147.64 down by 13.18points or 0.07% over the previous day closing of 20160.82.It touched an intraday low of 20044.74 and high of 20216.49.

The markets' breadth was negative. Out of 2504 stocks traded 1025 stocks advanced, 1342 stocks declined and 137 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 12 stocks advanced 17 stocks declined and 01 stock remain unchanged.

Among the sectors, BSE Realty , BSE Metal, BSE Bankex were the main losers of the day which decreased by 2.50%, 1.13% and 0.82% respectively.

In BSE Realty sector, HDIL , Unitech and Indiabulls Real estate decreased by 6.80%,4.40% and 3.90% respectively. In BSE Metal sector Sterlite Inds, Tata Steel and SAIL declined by 2.53%,2.27% and 2.13% respectively. In BSE Bankex Canara Bank , Union Bank and IDBI Bank decreased by 3.28% 3.15% and 2.38% respectively.
