Indian Indices trade weak in the afternoon session - ZEN Money

Domestic indices opened the session on a positive note following the firm global cues. Sentiments remained positive by data showing that foreign funds remained net buyers of Indian stocks in the previous session. Markets traded in a narrow range for most of the morning session. Indices traded weak in the afternoon session on the back of selling in front line blue chip counters and taking cues from negative opening of European market. With some recovery witnessed in the last hour trading, markets ended the day with marginal losses.

On a sectoral front, Capital Goods and Realty sectors witnessed heavy selling pressure on the back of disappointed results reported by L&T. Oil Marketing stocks were under pressure as the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has started investigation into alleged cartelization by oil marketing companies in fixing petrol prices. Power, Metal, Banks and Auto sectors also ended the day with marginal losses. FMCG and HealthCare are the gainers of the day followed by Consumer Durables and IT sectors ended with marginal gains.
