Indian Shares took a breather on Monday - Microsec

Indian shares took a breather on Monday and closed marginally in red on profit booking after a big rally happened in the last week.

Nifty closed at 6156.90 down by 30.40 points or 0.49% over the previous day closing of 6187.30 after witnessing a low of 6146.05 and a high of 6229.45. Sensex closed at 20223.98 down by 62.14points or 0.31% over the previous day closing of 20286.12.It touched an intraday low of 20186.66 and high of 20443.62.

The markets' breadth was negative. Out of 2552 stocks traded 1120 stocks advanced, 1304 stocks declined and 128 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 12 stocks advanced and 18 stocks declined.

Among the sectors, BSE Healthcare, BSE Consumer Durables BSE Bankex were the main losers of the day which decreased by 1.79%, 1.19% and 0.92% respectively.

In BSE Healthcare sector, Apollo Hosp , Ranbaxy Lab and Lupin decreased by 6.71%, 5.79% and 4.50% respectively. In BSE Consumer Durables sector Whirlpool VIP Inds and Rajesh Exports declined by 4.75%, 1.60% and 1.58% respectively. In BSE Bankex Yes Bank, Indusind Bank and ICICI Bank decreased by 2.27% 1.68% and 1.62% respectively.
