Indian Markets close flat shrugging off 41-month low Inflation Number - Microsec

The Indian equity benchmarks consolidated in trade today and closed flat shrugging off 41-month low April WPI inflation number of 4.89%.

Nifty closed at 5995.40 up by 14.95 points or 0.25% over the previous day closing of 5980.45 after witnessing a low of 5970.05 and a high of 6026.20. Sensex closed at 19722.29 up by 30.62points or 0.16% over the previous day closing of 19691.67.It touched an intraday low of 19652.69 and high of 19831.79.

The markets' breadth was negative. Out of 2466 stocks traded 1140 stocks advanced, 1194 stocks declined and 132 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 15 stocks advanced and 15 stocks declined.

Among the sectors, BSE Healthcare ,BSE Teck & BSE PSU were the main gainers of the day which increased by 0.67%, 0.64% and 0.48% respectively.

In BSE Healthcare sector, Ranbaxy Lab, Cadila Health, and Sun Pharma increased by 2.03%,3.37% and 2.03% respectively. In BSE Teck sector Rcom, Jagran Prakashan, and Sadbhav Engrr. advanced by 5.77%,3.11% and 3.61% respectively. In BSE PSU sector UCO Bank, RCF and Oil India increased by 4.53% 2.37% and 2.17% respectively.
