Sensex scales new peak on Budget day

BSE Sensex touched a new high of 10354.12 today on expectations of favorable budget. Sensex opened at 10309.71 opening above its previous day close of 10282.09. Sensex went to hit a new high of 1034.12 and currently trading at 10326.05, up by around 44 points.

L&T was the major gainer with the stock trading higher by 1.7% at Rs.2403. Tata Power (Rs.528.1, up by 1.69%), ICICI Bank (Rs.604, up by 1.62%), Grasim Industries (Rs.1693.25, up by 1.48%), ACC (Rs.605.9, up by 1.42%) were the other major gainers in Sensex.

Ranbaxy Laboratories was the major loser in Sensex with the stock trading down by 1.7% at Rs.434.5. Hindalco wsa the other major loser with the stock trading at Rs.153.25, down by 0.91%.
