The Sensex ended a busy day of trade in the green, up 100 points at 19387.50. The action was by and large focused around the stocks that had declared their results today. Positive Asian markets helped the Nifty to close above 5900 mark once again.
Nifty closed at 5904.10 up by 32.65 points or 0.56% over the previous day closing of 5871.45 after witnessing a low of 5868.80 and a high of 5918.65. Sensex closed at 19387.50 up by 100.78points or 0.52% over the previous day closing of 19286.72.It touched an intraday low of 19284.40 and high of 19428.94.
The markets' breadth was positive. Out of 2490 stocks traded 1289 stocks advanced, 1070 stocks declined and 131 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 19 stocks advanced and 11 stocks declined.
Among the sectors, BSE Consumer Durables, BSE FMCG and BSE Realty were the main gainers of the day which increased by 2.43%, 2.30% and 1.53% respectively. In BSE Consumer Durables sector, TTK Prestige, Titan Inds and Whirpool increased by 5.39%,3.48% and 2.59% respectively. In BSE FMCG sector HUL, Tata Global and ITC advanced by 6.98%,2.71% and 1.69% respectively. In BSE Realty sector Indiabulls Real estate, Unitech and AnantRaj increased by 6.74% 3.15% and 2.35 % respectively.
