Markets registered losses for the 5th straight trading session as FIIs continued to pull money out of the Indian markets. Most sectoral indices on BSE were in the red, however, BSE Auto index bucked the trend.
Wipro slumped over 12% on the first trading session of demerger of its non-IT business. Tata Consultancy Services rose after the company announced the acquisition of 100% equity shares of French IT services company - Alti SA
The BSE Mid-Cap index fell 1% and the BSE Small-Cap index fell 0.84%. Both these indices were better off than the broader index.
Positive global cues are expected to ease some of the prevailing negative sentiment. The markets are expected to open on a flat note.
