Sensex ends in red on Monday, while Nifty closes flat - Microsec

The Sensex ended in the red on Monday while the Nifty was flat.

Nifty closed at 5942.35 down by 3.35points or 0.06% over the previous day closing of 5863.30 after witnessing a low of 5930.35 and a high of 5971.20. Sensex closed at 19646.21 down by 37.02 points or 0.19% over the previous day closing of 19413.54.It touched an intraday low of 19602.71 and high of 19754.66.

The markets' breadth was positive. Out of 3003 stocks traded 1395 stocks advanced, 1474 stocks declined and 134 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 20 stocks advanced and 10 stocks declined.

Among the sectors, BSE Consumer Durables ,BSE IT and BSE Metal were the main losers of the day, which decreased by 1.38%, 0.67% and 0.56% respectively.

In BSE Consumer Durables sector Titan Inds, Rajesh Exports and Bajaj Elect, decreased by 2.77%,2.32 % and 1.20% respectively. In BSE IT sector Oracle Fin, Wipro and TCS declined by 3.35%,1.35% and 1.05% respectively. In BSE Metal sector JSW Steel NMDC and Sterlite Industries decreased by 2.16%, 1.29% and 0.89% respectively.
