Nifty trades on sluggish note - ICICIdirect

The Nifty traded sluggish and with a negative bias initially. Later it rallied post noon and closed at the day's high.

India VIX came down from 13.92 to 13.27 (down 4.7%). FIIs were net buyers in the cash segment to the tune of Rs.887 crore while they were net sellers in stock futures to the tune of Rs.240 crore.

In the options space, on the Call side, Nifty 6100 Call saw addition of 0.25 million shares whereas 6200 Call saw closure of 0.25 million shares .On the Put side, Nifty 6000 Put added 0.4 million shares.

OI addition: We saw long build-up in Voltas, Unitech, Dr Reddy's, Idea Cellular and GMR Infra while short build-up was seen in Larsen & Toubro, PNB and Titan Industries.

OI shedding: We saw short covering in HDFC, Jain Irrigation, Power Grid and ITC while long closure was seen in Bhushan Steel, SAIL, Adani Power and Raymond.
