Foreign Tourist Arrivals up 14.4%, Foreign exchange earnings at Rs.9102.42 crores in 2007

The foreign tourist arrivals in 2007 have gone up by 14.4% compared to 2006. A total of 1421007 tourists visited India in 2007 compared to 1242282 in 2006. The number of tourists who visited the country in 2005 was at 1107915.

The foreign exchange earnings in 2007 was at Rs.9102.42 crores compared to Rs.7792.37 crores in 2006 and Rs.6880 crores in 2005. Year 2007 saw a rise of 16.8% in foreign exchange earnings compared to 2006.
