Gitanjali Gems Appoints Jurong International as Master Consultants for the project - Hyderabad Gems & Jewellery Special Economic Zone

Gitanjali Gems Ltd has announced that Hyderabad Gems SEZ Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company has appointed Jurong Consultants (India) Pvt Ltd., owned by Jurong Overseas Pte. Ltd., a leading international organization in the field of infrastructure project planning, for the master planning and other related activities of Hyderabad Gems and Jewellery Special Economic Zone. Jurong has considerable experience in executing large projects across commercial, residential, Industrial and recreational constructions.

The proposed Special Economic Zone (SEZ), spread across 200 acres in the Shamsabad area, near Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, will be targeted initially for Diamonds, Gems and Jewellery Industries and will contain more than 500 open industrial plots with a total built up area of over 10 million square feet. Besides housing independent buildings for gems and jewellery units, the SEZ will have all necessary infrastructure as well as residential and commercial area comprising housing, international trade centre, banks, post offices, shopping complex, warehouse etc.

As per the agreement Jurong has been entrusted with the responsibility to provide Master Planning, Infrastructure Engineering Design, Conceptual & Detailed Architectural & Landscape Design, Civil & Structural Engineering Design, and Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Design, Quantity Surveying & Project Management services, in relation to the project.
