Reliance Power - First Cut - Microsec Research

Anil Ambani Group company Reliance Power today reported 42% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs. 204 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011. The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 144 crore in the year ago period. The consolidated operating revenues of the company for the December quarter stood at Rs. 457 crore, a 82% jump from its corresponding period last year when it stood at Rs. 251 crore. The company has reported a YOY 109% increase of other income to Rs.216.82 crore.

Q3 Highlights

- 600 MW Rosa Phase 1 operated at a PLF of 75% generating 987 million units of power compared with 707 MUs in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

- Operating revenues from the plant has almost doubled to Rs. 441 crore from Rs.241 crore in the previous year.

- EBITDA of the plant grew by almost 63% - Rs.163 crore from Rs.100 crore in the previous year.

- Net profit for the plant at Rs.75 crore – from Rs. 40 crore in the previous year.
